Upgrades and New Pay Schedule All APWU-represented employees covered by the 2006-2010 APWU-USPS collective bargaining agreement will be upgraded one pay level effective Feb. 16, 2008. The upgrades are being implemented via new pay schedules. Your first payment at the up-graded level will be on your March 7, 2008 paycheck. However – Your paycheck will show the lower level rate of pay, but you are being paid at the higher level. Further – Your paycheck will show the higher level rate of pay on pay period 10. This means you are to be up-graded from your current level to the next higher level you will continue to see on your pay stub the lower level until pay period 10, at which time it will then start showing at the higher level. Example - This means if you are to be up-graded from level 3 to level 4 you will continue to see on your pay stub level 3 until pay period 10, at which time it will then start showing at level 4. This means if you are to be up-graded from level 5 to level 6 you will continue to see on your pay stub level 5 until pay period 10, at which time it will then start showing at level 6. You are being paid at the higher level as you read this! All APWU Members Get $479 The Consumer Price Index rose in January, the last month of the most recent six-month Cost-of-Living measuring period under the 2006 National Agreement. The rise in the CPI gives APWU-represented employees an annual raise of $479. The Cost-Of-Living Adjustment will be effective March 15, and will be reflected in April 4 paychecks (Pay Period 07-08).

We have been advised by the Service that the $2,700.00 payments pursuant to the MS-47 remedy settlement have been issued for this payday, February 22, 2008. However, in the attempt to expedite the payments, the Service was only able to process about half of the total payments. The remainder of the employees being paid will be accomplished for the next pay day, March 7, 2008 (pay period 05-08). The remedy settlement required payment no later than the pay day for pay period 08-08. Please ensure all Maintenance offices in your area are made aware immediately that half of the nationwide total will receive the $2,700 this pay day and the other half next payday.
